Three thousand years ago, the poet Hesiod detailed the story of Prometheus, the hero who gave civilization the gift of fire. Prometheus aims to protect that same civilization by exploring threats to its existence.

Prometheus Science Bowl is open to all middle and high schoolers, including those in non-traditional schooling. We encourage everyone to compete regardless of skill level or prior experience.

Humanity faces many diverse challenges, some of which pose existential threats to our entire species. Prometheus aims to make talented students aware of these issues and offer opportunities to learn more about them.
What’s happening this year?
For various reasons, Prometheus will not be running tournaments this year. We aren’t sure yet whether we’ll return to running events in future seasons, but we’ll keep this website and our Discord updated.
